Gray
Public Works Director Steve LaVallee, and Public
Works crew Phil Andrukaitis and Charlie Kimball
prepare to erect the long-awaited Wildlife refuge
sign on Route 100 south of Gray Plaza.
|
| In
1986, Gray resident Ardena Manahan gifted 8 acres
of land to the Town of Gray, asked that it be
designated the Julian Davies Manahan Wildlife
Refuge, and that a suitable sign be erected to
designate the land accordingly. In 2001, The
Monument was researching town-owned property
and discovered that the refuge existed, but the
sign was never erected. In March of 2002, Mrs.
Manahan's wish was fulfilled. |
